KATHMANDU: Two workers involved in the construction of a suspension bridge over the Bheri River in Surkhet have gone missing after falling into the river.

The bridge is being built to connect Barahatal Rural Municipality-4 and Panchapuri Municipality-14.

According to the District Police Office, Surkhet, the missing workers have been identified as Anil Gharti (24) and Arjun Gharti Magar (18) from Sisne Rural Municipality-2 in Rukum East. They reportedly fell into the river while tightening the bridge cables, according to DSP Narayan Dangi.

Eleven Nepal Police personnel and seven Armed Police Force (APF) personnel have been deployed for the search and rescue operation, according to the District Police Office, Surkhet.

The rescue team consists of **seven personnel from the Armed Police Force, led by an inspector, and eleven personnel from the Nepal Police**, according to Surkhet Police.
