KATHMANDU: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has suspended the flying licenses of two Tara Air pilots who engaged in a physical altercation on the premises of Manthali Airport in Ramechhap on Friday morning.
“Senior captains Santosh Shah and Sanjeev Shrestha have been suspended for breaching national safety standards until further notice,” CAAN Spokesperson Jagannath Niroula said in a statement to the news agency RSS.
The aviation regulator has said that a thorough investigation could potentially result in the revocation of their licenses and the imposition of other punitive measures in accordance with regulations.
Manthali Airport remains busy during spring and autumn season as all flights to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region, are operated from here.
