POKHARA: Two sisters were found dead in a water pit in Putalibazar of Syangja on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Narendra Bahadur Thapa’s daughters Laxmi (14) and Susmita (12) of Putalibazar Municipality Ward 4.
The two girls had gone to the water pit about 500 meters away from their home to take a bath and wash their clothes. A search was initiated when the two didn’t return home for a long time. The bodies were discovered in the water pit near Ramkosh Swara.
According to the District Police Office, Syangja, preliminary investigations suggest that the girls died by drowning. “Further investigation into the case is underway,” he added.
