Two missing, 10 rescued after Sindhupalchowk hydropower site accident

KATHMANDU: Two workers have gone missing when scaffolding collapsed during concrete works at a hydropower project construction site in Sindhupalchok on Friday.

Ten workers were rescued from the construction site of Electro Hydropower Company in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality, according to Armed Police Force. “The condition of one of the workers is serious. He has been airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment,” he added.

Separate teams deployed by the Tatopani Border Outpost of the Armed Police Force (APF) and Nepal Army rescued the workers.

The search for the two missing workers is underway, according to DSP Shailendra Thapa, the joint spokesperson for the APF.
