Two medical students dead in Pokhara road accident

POKHARA: Two medical students died when a car hit a scooter they were riding at Sundaribazaar on Prithvi Highway in Kaski on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Anisha Khakda (23) of Hemja in Pokhara-25 and Bhawana Baral (24) of Pokhara-5. Both were students of Gandaki Medical College.

Traffic Police Inspector Bhanu Sharma said the car, heading to Talchowk from Pokhara, hit the scooter coming from the opposite direction at around 4:15 pm.

Although both were rushed to the hospital for treatment, Anisha succumbed to injuries at 4:39 pm, and Bhavana breathed her last at 7:15 pm.

The police have arrested the car driver, Man Bahadur Baniya, for further investigation.
