Two dead, 28 injured in Pokhara school bus accident

POKHARA: Two persons died in a school bus accident in Pokhara on Monday morning.

According to the District Police Office Kaski, Arti BK (33) and her son Prince (6) died when the bus ferrying students to LP Devkota Memorial School met with an accident near Kristi in Pokhara-21. Twenty-eight others were injured in the accident.

The bus, which was coming to Burauta from Ramadi, fell about 50 meters below the road after the driver lost control, police said.

Arti was serving as an office assistant at the school.

The injured are receiving treatment at Gandaki Medical College Teaching Hospital and Manipal Teaching Hospital. The condition of three is reported to be serious.

Police suspect the accident was caused by brake failure.
