Two bikes crash head on Mahottari, three students dead

KATHMANDU: Three students died when two motorcycles crashed head-on in Mahottari district on Tuesday.

According to the District Police Office, Mahottari, all three deceased were returning home after sitting for the Secondary Education Examination (SEE).

The accident occurred on the Bardibas-Jaleshwar road in Ekdara Rural Municipality-5.

DSP Shailendra Kumar Bhatta, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Mahottari, said the deceased have been identified as Ravi Das and Subodh Das of Jaleshwar-6, and Abhishek Mandal of Ekdara-3.

“All four riders on the motorcycles were returning after taking their SEE exams,” DSP Bhatta said. “The motorcycles caught fire after the collision, and all three died due to burn injuries.”

Rohit Das and Abhay Kapar of Jaleshwar-6, and Jay Kumar Mahato were injured in the accident.
