TU confers degrees on more than 16,000 graduates

KATHMANDU: More than 16,300 graduates were conferred degrees at the 51st Convocation Ceremony of Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu on Thursday.

Prime Minister Sushila Karki, who is also the Chancellor of the country’s oldest university, along with senior figures from the academic community, attended the ceremony.

A total of 89,101 students across various levels, including bachelor’s, master’s, MPhil, and PhD programs of the TU, were eligible for the convocation.

Japanese professor and Nobel laureate Takaaki Kajita was the chief guest of the convocation ceremony.

Pro-Chancellor and Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Mahabir Pun, along with other scholars, are also present.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dipak Aryal congratulated the students and said the university was gradually moving along the path of reform.
