Trimurti Niketan honors literary luminaries on 18th Trimurti Day

KATHMANDU: Trimurti Niketan honored three individuals for their contribution to the literary field on the occasion of 123rd birth anniversary of noted dramatist Bal Krishna Sama.

According to a statement issued by the Trimurti Niketan, Ram Babu Subedi was awarded the Lekhnath Kavya Puraskar for his six-decade-long dedication to Nepali literature, particularly for his contributions to classical poetry and its promotion; Prof Dr Savitri Kakshapati received the Bal Krishna Sama Puraskar for her significant documentation on the life and works of Bal Krishna Sama, as well as her contributions to Nepali theater and literature; and Prof Dr Benju Sharma was honored with the Devkota Kavya Puraskar for her continuous dedication to poetry and her remarkable contributions to the enrichment of Nepali literature over the past six decades.

The award carries of purse of Rs 100,000 and a plaque each.

The awards were presented by Indira Prasai, chairperson of Trimurti Niketan; Prof Keshav Subedi, Coordinator of Lekhnath Paudyal Poetry Council; and Prof Dr Mahadev Awasthi, Coordinator of Laxmi Prasad Devkota Foundation.
