Transitional justice-related bill tabled in parliament

KATHMANDU: Bill to Amend the Enforced Disappearances Enquiry, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act has been tabled in the House of Representatives.

Bimala Subedi, the chairperson of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee of the lower house tabled ‘Committee Report on the Commission for Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation (Third Amendment) Bill, 2024’on Tuesday.

The House committee unanimously passed the transitional justice-related bill on Thursday after three major parties reached a consensus on contentious issues in the Bill.
