KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Joint General Secretary of Nepali Congress (NC), Badri Pandey, has filed complaints against lawmaker from his party, Rajendra Bajgain, with both the party’s Central Discipline Committee and Parliamentary Party.
Pandey filed the complaint alleging that Bajgain had been conducting a systematic defamation campaign against him. “Bajgain has been consistently making various allegations and spreading misinformation on social media since my appointment as minister,” Pandey said in his complaint. “The baseless allegations made by a lawmaker elected from the party have not only hurt my personal feelings but also damaged the party’s ideology, principles and ideals and my personal integrity.”
He also said that such unwarranted activities must be brought under legal purview, or else it will encourage anarchy and make mockery of integrity and dedication.
According to the complaint, Bajgain made serious accusations, including allegations of bribery and corruption, particularly regarding the issuance of a casino license, through his social media posts.
After Minister Pandey announced his intention to take legal action against these allegations, Bajgain removed the related social media posts.
