PARSA: A Royal Bengal tiger has been found dead near Malibasti in Thori Rural Municipality-4, close to the road leading to India, of Parsa.
According to Kishor Lamsal, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Parsa, the body was discovered at around 7:30 am, approximately 500 meters south of the Hulaki Road in Malibasti, Thori. “After locals reported finding the dead tiger, a team led by Sub Inspector Dharmendra Sah from the Bijaybasti Police Post was deployed to the site. The investigation is underway,” he said. “Teams from Parsa National Park and the Sabuj Battalion of Nepal Army are also investigating the case.”
Jayaram Nyaopane, a ranger at Parsa National Park Office, said the carcass of the big cat has been documented and brought to the national park office for a post-mortem examination. “Preliminary observations suggest minor external injuries on the tiger. Whether these injuries were caused by a fight or by some other reason will only be confirmed after the post-mortem,” he said.
