Three dead, 40 injured in Sankhu road accident*

KATHMANDU: Three individuals died when a bus returning from a picnic in Nagarkot met with an accident near Sankhu in Kathmandu on Wednesday evening.

Forty others are injured in the accident.

The bus, which was carrying students of Satya Sai (SS) Academy in Maijubahal of KMC-7, met with an accident at Kattike on Sankhu-Nagarkot road in Shankarapur-5, police say.

According to Apil Raj Bohora, the spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu, the accident occurred as the driver lost control of the bus due to brake failure.

The injured are receiving treatment at People’s Care Hospital, Shankarapur Hospital, Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital and TU Teaching Hospital.
