Three recommended for the position of Sebon chairperson

KATHMANDU: Three candidates have been recommended for the position of Chairperson of the Securities Board of Nepal (Sebon) – the securities market regulator.

The Sebon Chairperson Recommendation Committee has recommended the names of Santosh Narayan Shrestha, Muktinath Shrestha and Nawaraj Adhikari, multiple sources told Himal Press.

They added that the committee made the recommendations based on the work plans and performances of candidates during the interview.

The cabinet meeting scheduled for Monday is expected to pick one of them as the new Sebon chair.

The board has been without leadership since the first week of January when incumbent chairperson Ramesh Kumar Hamal’s term ended.
