KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has recalled its three officers to the headquarters as part of gold smuggling investigation.
SP Sanjaya Singh Thapa and DSPs Rugam Kunwar and Durga Dahal have been recalled to police headquarters after a high-level commission studying gold smuggling stated that the three committed a grave mistake in the investigation.
SP Thapa is currently serving as the chief of the District Police Office, Nuwakot, while DSPs Kunwar and Dahal are with the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police. Thapa was also with the CIB when the investigation into gold smuggling was underway.
The commission, led by former high court judge Dilli Raj Acharya, submitted its report to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs on Thursday.
