KATHMANDU: The three Pakistani nationals whom India claimed had entered Bihar via Nepal have returned to Malaysia, according to the Department of Immigration.
The three arrived in Kathmandu from Dubai and departed for Malaysia, said Ram Chandra Tiwari, the Director General of the Department of Immigration.
India has alleged that all three are members of the militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Tiwari told Himal Press over the phone on Thursday that the men entered Nepal from Dubai on different dates and later left for Malaysia separately. “The records show all three Pakistani nationals came to Kathmandu via Dubai,” he said. “They arrived on different dates and returned to Malaysia on different dates.”
Tiwari further clarified that immigration records revealed nothing against them. “Our records show no issues, and they are not blacklisted in Interpol’s records either. Therefore, there was no reason to stop them,” Tiwari explained.
Earlier, Indian media outlet India Today, citing Indian police, reported that Jaish-e-Mohammed operatives Adil Hussain, Hasnain Ali and Mohammad Usman had crossed into Bihar through Nepal. Following this claim, the Indian police headquarters instructed security agencies to maintain a high alert and deployed intelligence units in the area, according to Indian media reports.
According to the Department of Immigration, Hasnain Ali flew to Malaysia today on Thursday, Adil Hussain on August 24 and Mohammad Usman on August 15. They had landed in Nepal a month ago.
