LUMBINI: Three persons died when a car traveling from Nuwakot of Palpa to Butwal met with an accident late on Wednesday evening.
According to locals, the car lost control and plunged nearly 200 meters off the road at around 8:30 pm.
The deceased have been identified as the driver, Ram Prasad Sharma (56) of Putalibazar in Syangja, and Asha Shrestha (57) and Bhagvati Shrestha (50) of Tilottama-3 in Rupandehi.
Five people were in the ill-fated car. The two injured, Chandra Shrestha of Butwal-9 and Laxmita Shrestha of Butwal-11, are receiving treatment at Lumbini Provincial Hospital.
According to DSP Bijaya Raj Pandit of the Area Police Office in Butwal, the injured are out of danger.
