POKHARA: Three individuals died and 11 others were injured in an electric van accident in Pokhara on Wednesday.
Shobha Pandey, chief of Kaski Traffic Police Office, told Himal Press over the phone that one man and two women are among the deceased. “One of them succumbed to injuries at Gandaki Provincial Hospital, and the other two passed away at Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences,” she added.
According to the District Police Office, Kaski, the van coming to Pokhara from Dhading fell off the road into a farmland near Lameahal area in Pokhara Municipality-32 at around 3:30 pm.
All three succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment. The identity of the deceased has not been established yet.
“Out of the 11 injured, including the driver, the condition of two is critical,” said DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Kaski. “The injured are receiving treatment at the Western Regional Hospital.”
Preliminary investigations suggest the accident occurred after the driver lost control of the speeding vehicle.
Earlier in the day, 25 people were injured when a passenger bus coming from Pumdikot to Chhorepatan met with an accident near the parking spot of World Peace Stupa.
