KATHMANDU: Three boys drowned in a water-filled pit formed by recent floods in Sisneri of Makwanpur on Sunday afternoon.
The victims, all aged 12-13 years, included one local child and two visitors from Fulbari Dapcha, in Kavre district who were spending holidays with relatives, according to Pratap Bhomjan, chairperson of Ward-3 of Indrasarovar Rural Municipality.
“We have learnt that the three had gone to swim in the approximately 10-12 feet deep pit near Sisneri on Sunday as well,” Bhomjan said. “The pit, which is 10-12 ft deep, was created after heavy rainfall washed away part of the road in September last year.”
According to Bhomjan, two boys were found dead at the scene, while the third passed away while being rushed to a nearby hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Sushsnt Acharya (14) of Sisneri, and Pramesh Ghorasaini (14) and Pramadh Ghorasaini (11) of Fulbari Dapcha.
