KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) and Nepal APF Club won their respective matches in the 2026 Prime Minister Cup on Sunday.
In Match No. 3 held at the Lower Mulpani Cricket Ground, TAC defeated Nepal Police Club (NPC) by 22 runs. Batting first after winning the toss, TAC scored 243 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 47 overs. In reply, NPC folded for 221 runs in 45.3 overs.
Although TAC’s top order collapsed, scoring just 48 runs for the loss of four wickets in 16.2 overs, Bhim Sharki scored a half-century, and Basir Ahamad hit a ton to take TAC to a competitive total. Sharki scored 62 of 65 balls, while Ahamad struck 100 from 86 balls.
Sarwan Yadav picked up three wickets for NPC, while Sagar Dhakal and Rashid Khan claimed two each, and Lalit Rajbanshi contributed with one wicket.
NPC lost opener Dinesh Kharel for a duck in the very first ball of the inning in the chase of 244. No. 3 batter Amit Shretha (5) followed him six balls later. However, Shankar Rana (46) and Rashid Khan (60) built a valuable partnership to keep NPC on the hunt. Captain Aarif Sheikh scored 38 off 43 balls. However, NPC lost wickets at regular intervals, as the required run rate climbed up, and eventually folded for 221 runs in 45.3 overs.
Naren Saud claimed three wickets for TAC, while Aakash Chand picked up two, and Kushal Malla, Sahab Alam, Basir Ahamad, and Pawan Karki claimed one wicket each.
Nepal APF defeat Bagmati by 71 runs
Nepal APF Club defeated Bagmati Province by 71 runs in Match No.4 of the PM Cup.
Btting first, Nepal APF scored 271 runs for the loss of eight wickets. In reply, Bagmati were all out for 200 runs in 45.1 overs.
Although Nepal APF lost opener Dipak Bohara (3) and No.3 batter Rohit Paudel (9) cheaply, Aaasif Sheikh (114) scored a brilliant half-century to build the inning. He received support from Sundeep Jora (52) and Sumit Maharjan (18) at the other end. Lokesh Bam (29) and Yuvraj Khatri (26*) also made valuable contributions to take the score past 270.
Rijan Dhakal claimed four wickets for Bagmati, while Ishan Pandey picked up two, and Sandeep Lamichhane and Sonu Devkota contributed one wicket each.
Bagmati lost both openers cheaply in the chase of 272 runs. Ashutosh Ghiraiya scored nine, while Shubh Kansakar made 8. Bibek Kansakar top-scored for Bagmati with a 34 off 64 balls, while Subash Khatri scored 27, Uttam Magar contributed 26, and Shivam Tiwari chipped in with 25. Rijan Dhakal remained not out at 20.
Avishek Gautam and Rohit Paudel picked up three wickets each for Nepal APF, while Kamal Airee, Nandan Yadav, Yuvraj Khatri, and Amar Routela had a wicket each to their names.
