KATHMANDU: The Sudurpashchim Province Government has decided to provide a compensation of Rs 200,000 to each of the next of kin of the 10 Nepali youths who lost their lives during a Hamas attack in Israel.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the death of 10 Nepali youths on Sunday. These young individuals were part of a 49-member group of students from Sudurpashchim University in Israel to participate in the ‘earn and learn program’ of the Israeli government.
Issuing a statement released on Monday, Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah expressed sorrow over the incident and announced the compensation for the families of the victims.
Additionally, Shah has called upon the government to prioritize search and rescue operations as well as the well-being of other Nepali citizens currently in Israel. He also urged the government to take immediate and necessary steps to facilitate the repatriation of the dead bodies to Nepal.
