KATHMANDU: The Shram Sanskriti Party (SSP) has emerged as the largest party in the proportional representation vote in Khotang.
Voters in the district, who earlier elected Aren Rai of SSP under the first-past-the-post system, also gave the highest number of proportional votes to the party.
Out of 63,257 votes cast in the district under the proportional representation system, the party secured 18,137 votes.
The CPN-UML finished second with 11,385 votes, followed by the Nepali Congress (NC) with 10,705 votes. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) came fourth with 8,879 votes.
Meanwhile, the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) secured 7,274 votes, while the Rastriya Paribartan Party received 1,244 votes.
