KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leaders supporting the call for a special convention have said that the party is bound to hold the special convention by January 11 and that no one has the leeway to violate this mandatory provision of the party statute.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, they said that no one is allowed to breach the statute’s binding provisions. “This is not a matter of desire or choice; it is a mandatory provision of the statute,” they said in a statement, expressing confidence that the central party office will understand its responsibility and take ownership of organizing the convention.
Meanwhile, the Special Convention Organizing Committee has formed 18 subcommittees to hold the convention.
