Special convention elects Gagan as NC President

KATHMANDU: The 2nd Special General Convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) has elected a new Central Working Committee with Gaga Kumar Thapa as the president.

All the office-bearers were elected unopposed on Wednesday night.

Similarly, Bishwa Prakash Sharma and Pushpa Bhusal have been elected vice presidents,  while Pradeep Paudel and Gururaj Ghimire have been elected general secretaries.

Among the joint general secretaries, Dila Sangraula has been elected from the women’s category, Prakash Rasaili from the Dalit category, and Bahadur Singh Lama from the indigenous nationalities category. Similarly, other joint general secretaries include Udaya Shumsher JBR from Khas/Arya category, Mukta Kumari Yadav from Madheshi category, and Farmullah Mansoor from Muslim category

Likewise, Yogendra Chaudhary has been elected joint general secretary from the Tharu category and Karna Bahadur Budha from the backward region category.
