KATHMANDU: Speaker Devraj Ghimire on Sunday held discussions with the main ruling parties, Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML, regarding the bills passed by the National Assembly and now in the House of Representatives.
Speaker Ghimire invited NC Chief Whip Shyam Ghimire and UML Chief Whip Mahesh Kumar Bartaula to his office to seek their opinions on the bills related to Constitutional Council and National Dignity currently in the House of Representatives.
“The Speaker has sought our opinions on the Constitutional Council-related bill and the National Dignity Bill that were passed by the National Assembly along with other bills pending in the House of Representatives. We told the Speaker that we will meet again on Monday after holding discussions with our respective parties,” Ghimire said.
Likewise, Bartaula said that all bills under consideration in Parliament would move forward.
The winter session of Parliament has been called for December 31. As the date for the winter session approaches, Speaker Ghimire has intensified discussions to ensure a smooth House session. He is scheduled to meet chief whips of other political parties later today.
