KATHMANDU: Six ordinances recently brought by the government have been presented to the National Assembly and House of Representatives on Friday.

Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, on behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, presented the Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Good Governance Promotion and Public Service Delivery, in the separate sessions of the National Assembly and House of Representatives.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Minister Gurung explained that the ordinance aims to expedite public service delivery, streamline the state’s administrative system, and promote good governance by amending certain Nepal Acts related to public service delivery.

Likewise, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel presented the Economic Procedures and Financial Responsibility (First Amendment) Ordinance, the Privatization (First Amendment) Ordinance, and the Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Economic and Business Environment Improvement and Investment Promotion, in the National Assembly and House of Representatives.

Similarly, the Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation, Balaram Adhikari, presented the Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Cooperatives, and the Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Land, before the two houses.

As per Article 114 (1) (A) of the Constitution, ordinances issued by the government must be presented in both houses of the federal parliament. If the ordinances are not passed by both houses, they will automatically become invalid.

Meanwhile, opposition parties have decided to reject the ordinances.
