Six Indian tourists injured in Chitwan road accident

KATHMANDU: Six Indian nationals were injured when a jeep carrying tourists met with an accident in Chitwan on Sunday.

According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the jeep passing through Kumrose Community Forest met with an accident near Darai Lake in Khairhani Municipality-12.

All the Indian nationals are from Bendali in Maharashtra state of India. They have been identified as Susmita Sudesh Khadiya (52), Rekha Ram Chandra Yadav (74), Suedsh Shankhar Khadiya (60), Bijaya More (64), Vaishali Gupteshwar (58) and Pankaj Gupteshwar (62).

The injured are receiving treatment at hospitals in Ratnanagar and Bharatpur.

Police have arrested jeep driver Santa Kumar Chaudhary of Ratnanagar-4 of Chitwan for investigation.
