Sirohiya remanded to custody for three more days

KATHMANDU: The Dhanusha District Court has allowed police to keep media entrepreneur Kailash Sirohiya in custody for three more days.

The Dhanusha District Government Attorney’s Office had requested a five-day remand for Sirohiya.

After hearing arguments from seven legal counsels of Sirohiya on Friday, a single bench of District Judge Romakanta Gyawali remanded Sirohiya to three more days in police custody.

The District Police Office, Dhanusha, is investigating a case of misuse of citizenship against Sirohiya, the chairperson of Kantipur Media Group.

Police arrested Sirohiya from his office in Thapathali, Kathmandu, on Tuesday, after a complaint was filed against him.
