Sirohiya released from police custody

KATHMANDU: Kantipur Media Group (KMG) Chairperson Kailash Sirohiya has been released from police custody.

According to the District Police Office, Dhanusha, Sirohiya has been released on the condition that he will be available when summoned.

District Police Office, Lalitpur, released Sirohiya with the approval of the Dhanusha District Government Attorney’s Office and a letter sent by the District Police Office, Dhanusha, according to the KMG.

Sirohiya was arrested from the office of Kantipur Publications in Thapathali, Kathmandu, on May 21 and taken to Dhanusha on the chase of holding two citizenship certificates.

Sirohiya was admitted to Kavya Hospital in Dhanusha on May 24 due to health issues. Citing worsening health conditions, he was airlifted to Kathmandu and admitted to Nepal Mediciti Hospital in Lalitpur on Tuesday.
