KATHMANDU: Sichuan Airlines is resuming its flights to Kathmandu from Chengdu on March 20.

Issuing a statement on Tuesday, Society International Travel Services – the GSA of Sichuan Airlines for Nepal – said the airline will fly on the sector four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The flight will depart from Tribhuvan International Airport at 3:35 pm.

Sichuan has launched attractive fares for Melbourne and Tokyo (Narita) via Chengdu. Kathmandu-Melbourne fare has been fixed at Rs 79,999, while Kathmandu-Tokyo fare costs Rs 65,999, according to the statement. Likewise, it is offering 46 kg check-in baggage plus 7 kg hand carry for every passenger.

The Chengdu-based carrier launched its Nepal flights in 2015. It had stopped Kathmandu Valley after COVID-19 threw travel industry out of gears throughout the world.
