KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Shekhar Koirala has said that he has launched a campaign rising above party interests to save the country which has reached the brink of disaster.
Addressing the 2nd Convention of the Dang District Committee of NC in Ghorahi on Thursday, Koirala said people are disappointed as political parties have not prioritized the nation.
“I have been saying that the first and second largest forces in the House of Representatives should join hands to save the country,” Koirala said. “This country will not prosper until political parties put the nation first. The two countries should stand together and give a way out to the country.”
Koirala expressed regret that the nation has fallen into crisis because leaders have prioritized themselves first, then their party, and only then the country.
“The journey that I have undertaken will not end until I can bring the NC to a position where it can win a majority on its own in elections,” he added.
