KATHMANDU: The former General Secretary of the Nepali Congress (NC), Dr. Shashank Koirala, visited the Central Jail on Wednesday to meet with the former Home Minister, Balkrishna Khand.
Khand is in judicial custody pending an investigation into the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.
The two engaged in discussions for approximately half an hour. NC Office General Secretary, Krishna Prasad Poudel, accompanied Dr. Koirala to the Central Jail to meet with Khand.
NC leaders such as Shekhar Koirala, Joint General Secretary Mahendra Yadav, Bhishmaraj Angdambe, Foreign Minister NP Saud, Gandaki Chief Minister Surendra Pandey, and Lumbini Chief Minister Dilli Chaudhary, have met with Khand in the past few days.
Khand’s lawyers have challenged the decision of the Kathmandu District Court to place Khand in judicial custody. The challenge has been presented at the Patan High Court.
