Seven injured as bus, tipper collide in Tanahun

POKHARA: Seven people were injured when a passenger bus and a tipper truck collided along the Prithvi Highway in Bandipur, Tanahun, on Tuesday morning.

According to the District Police Office, Tanahun, the accident occurred at around 7:30 am at Chautara area in Bandipur Rural Municipality-4, when a passenger bus heading to Kathmandu from Rukum West collided with a tipper truck coming from the opposite direction.

The injured have been identified as Harish Chandra Khatri (49) from Barekot -7 of Jajarkot, Chandra Bahadur Rawal (35) from Musikot-6 and Bindu Oli (17) and Bhandra Bahadur Oli (50) from Sanibheri-4 of Rukum West. Likewise, bus driver Sanyoj Nepali (30) from Myagang-5 of Nuwakot and tipper truck driver Shankar Adhikari (44) from Bhanu Municipality-12 of Tanahun.

The condition of Khatri is serious and he has been referred to Bharatpur for treatment, while the other injured are receiving treatment at Laxmi Hospital in Dumre, according to DSP Ashok Thapa, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Tanahun.
