KATHMANDU: Central executive committee members of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) have sought the resignation of President Chatur Bahadur Chand.
Seven central committee members have submitted a memo in the board meeting of CAN that began in Pokhara on Tuesday, demanding the resignation of President Chand and four other members of the work performance committee on moral grounds. After submitting the memo, they also boycotted the board meeting.
The work performance committee includes President Chand, General Secretary Prashant Bikram Malla, Treasurer Roshan Singh and Members Durgaraj Pathak and Padak Khadka.
Central executive members Daud Ansari, Sanjaya Raj Singh, Karan Mahatra Chhetri, Amitbir Pandey, Chhumbi Lama and Dharma Raj Giri demanded the resignation of Chairman Chand and four work performance committee members.
Organizing a press meet in Kathmandu a few days ago, they had said that all the members of the work performance committee should step down.
CAN is holding its board meeting to discuss agendas like lifting the suspension of former captain Sandeep Lamichhane, upcoming ICC World Cricket League 2, ACC Premier League, annual general meeting, extraordinary general meeting and election, contract of national players, formation of integrity committee and Nepal T20 League, among others.
