KATHMANDU: Seven people lost their lives in separate landslide incidents in Bajhang and Jajarkot over the past 24 hours.

According to Nepal Police, four people were killed when a landslide triggered by perennial rain buried the house of Bir Bahadur Dhami (62) at Tumeda in Bungal Municipality-10 of Bajhang on Sunday night. The deceased have been identified as Kali Dhami (55), Golki Dhami (25), Aakriti Dhami (6) and Laxmi Dhami (3).

Six people, including Bir Bahadur, who were sleeping inside the house, sustained minor injuries.

Likewise, three persons died when a landslide buried the temporary shelter of Lal Bahadur Pariyar at Dandagaun in Nalagad Municipality-2 of Jajarkot district.

According to police, Lal Bahadur, his wife Manisha BK (35) and their son Shubham Pariyar were killed in the landslide.

Many people in Jajarkot and Rukum West districts have been living in temporary shelters since the earthquake on November 3 last year.
