KATHMANDU: Police have taken to weigh gold seized from smugglers on Wednesday to the Mint Division of Nepal Rastra Bank.
Armed Police Force (APF) personnel took eight boxes of gold to the Mint Division on Wednesday afternoon. According to officials, there are 160 pieces of gold in these boxes.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) conducted a raid on a taxi that was transporting a cargo of scooter brake shoes from the TIA Customs on Wednesday. The taxi was intercepted on Ring Road just outside the TIA Customs. The cargo had already been released by the customs office after completing their investigation.
