KATHMANDU: The Secondary Education Examination (SEE) began across the country on Thursday.
On the first day, students sat for the compulsory English examination
According to the National Examination Board (NEB), special strategic measures have been introduced this year to make the examination more organized, technology-friendly, and result-oriented compared to previous years. It has implemented practices such as decentralizing the evaluation of answer sheets and speeding up the processing.
The NEB aims to publish the results within a month of the examination.
More than 512,000 students, including those at an overseas center, are appearing in the examination this year. According to NEB, a total of 512,421 students, including 254,501 girls and seven transgender students, have registered for the exam. “The higher number of female students reflects improving access to education for girls in Nepal,” NEB said in a statement.
As in previous years, 23 students from Everest School in Japan are also appearing in the examination.
