KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has sought a written statement from the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah in a contempt of court case.
A single bench of Justice Til Prasad Shrestha issued the order on Tuesday.
Responding to Patan High Court’s order to not obstruct the screening of Hindi movies in Kathmandu, Balen had written in a social media post last Thursday that he won’t comply with any laws or court directives in matters concerning national independence and sovereignty.
Advocate Barsha Kumari Jha had filed a contempt of court case against Balen Shah at the Supreme Court.
