KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has registered the Shram Sanskriti Party (SSP), led by the Mayor of Dharan Sub-metropolitan City, Harka Sampang.
EC officials handed over the party registration certificate to Sampang on Sunday. Sampang had reached the EC premises with his supporters to receive the certificate.
Sampang has picked a ‘heap of soil’ as the election symbol of the party. He had applied to the EC for party registration last month.
Sampang, who was elected Dharan mayor as an independent candidate, is the chairperson of the SSP. According to the party’s statute submitted to the EC, the SSP will have a 33-member executive committee with five office-bearers.
