Samik Badal elected UML’s student wing chair

KATHMANDU: All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), the student wing of CPN-UML, has elected a new executive under the leadership of Samik Badal.

Badal, who received 962 votes, defeated RC Lamichhane by nearly 600 votes. Two other candidates of chairman Moti BK and Wangchu Sherpa got 68 and eight votes only.

The 199-member executive committee has 17 office-bearers.

Similarly, Govinda Giri, Narayan Gharti, Maryada Bist and Dharma Giri have been elected as vice chairman. While Naresh Rokaya has been elected as general secretary, Sanjiv Dhital, Sujan Kadariya, Prakash Poudel, Dipesh Prasai, Anjana Siwakoti, Arti Bhattarai and Binita Kafle have been elected secretary. Sangarm Aryal is the Treasurer in the new executive committee.

Altogether 1,588 delegates were eligible to vote.

The ANNFSU used 42 voting machines in the election.
