KATHMANDU: The prime suspect in the murder of Ruby Sah, whose body was found inside a suitcase in Rautahat, has been arrested.
According to the District Police Office, Rautahat, the main accused, Laxman Paswan, who was reportedly involved in the case, is now in custody.
Police said Paswan was discovered in a burnt condition after dousing himself with diesel and setting himself on fire. Locals spotted him in a mango grove along the Madhopur–Bisunpurwa–Manpur road in Madhavnarayan Municipality-6 and informed the police.
“We had him under surveillance. He was discovered in an injured state,” DSP Raju Karki, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Rautahat, told Himal Press over the phone. “It’s no longer just suspicion—evidence is almost conclusive. Paswan has confessed to the crime,” Karki added.
According to Karki, Paswan’s head and most parts of his body were severely burned.
