RSP’s Shishir Khanal reelected from Kathmandu-6

KATHMANDU: Shishir Khanal from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been reelected to the House of Representatives from Kathmandu-6 constituency.

According to final counting figures released by the Election Commission, Khanal received 27,711 votes of 43,863 votes cast. His closest contender, Sabuj Baniya of the Nepali Congress (NC), polled 6,647 votes while Aman Maskey of CPN-UML got 4,373 votes.

In 2022, Khanal received 14,204 votes in 2022.

Khanal is the second RSP candidate to win from Kathmandu in this election so far. Earlier, Ranju Darshana was elected from Kathmandu-1.
