RSP’s Indira Rana Magar files nomination for Deputy Speaker

KATHMANDU: Indira Rana Magar of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has filed nominations for the election of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Magar is the common candidate of the ruling coalition and is certain to win the election to be held on Saturday.

Her nomination was proposed by Sobita Gautam of RSP, while Krishna Gopal Shrestha of CPN-UML, Narayani Sharma of CPN (Maoist Center) and Rajendra Prasad Lingden of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) were the seconders.

Magar was elected to the House of Representatives under the proportional representation system.

Devraj Ghimire of CPN-UML was elected Speaker of the House of Representatives on Thursday.
