RSP’s central committee member assemble in party office

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has summoned all central committee members to the party office as police prepare to arrest its President and former Deputy PM and Minister for Home Affairs Rabi Lamichhane.

According to a central committee member, all central committee members have been instructed to reach the party office at the earliest. Senior party leaders, including Lamichhane, are in the party office, the central committee member added.

Police are preparing to arrest Lamichhane on the basis of the report of the Parliamentary Investigation Special Committee on Misuse of Cooperative Savings.

Police earlier on Sunday arrested former DIG Chhabi Lal Joshi who is also a director of Gorkha Media Network. Lamichhane is also a former director of Gorkha Media Network.

Lamichhane faces serious accusations of misappropriating funds brought from the cooperative although he was not involved in bringing money from the cooperative, according to the parliamentary committee.

Social media footages show police teams have already reached RSP’s party office.
