KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has won 101 out of 165 first-past-the-post seats in the House of Representatives elections held on Thursday.
As of 8 am on Sunday, the party’s candidates are leading the vote count in 24 seats.
Nepali Congress (NC) is second with 16 seats. The party is leading the count in one seat. Its candidate Janak Raj Giri is ahead of Lal Bahadur Thapa of CPN-UML in Bajura by about 900 votes.
Similarly, CPN-UML is third with seven seats. The party is leading in four constituencies. However, the margin is very slim in three of them.
Likewise, the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has won six seats and is leading the count in two.
Shram Sanskriti Party has won one seat and is leading in two others, while Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has won one seat.
The remaining 110 seats in the 275-member House of Representatives are elected under the proportional representation system.
