RSP lawmakers wear blue ribbon in parliament to protest ‘human trafficking’

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmakers protested against ‘human trafficking’ by wearing blue ribbons in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.
The RSP lawmakers, who have been demanding the formation of a parliamentary investigation committee regarding the visit visa controversy, wore blue ribbons as a symbol of their protest.

The blue ribbon is a globally recognized symbol of the campaign against human trafficking.

RSP has been obstructing the House of Representatives meetings since the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) started an investigation into Home Ministry Joint Secretary Tirtha Raj Bhattarai in connection with the visit visa scam. It has been calling for the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate the involvement of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak in the scam.

Meanwhile, House meetings are proceeding as usual despite the RSP’s protest.
