RSP General Secretary attending meeting with black tape over his mouth

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) General Secretary Mukul Dhakal is attending the party’s central committee meeting with black tape plastered over his mouth to protest the decision not to livestream the proceedings.

The central committee is holding discussion on a study report on party’s performance prepared by Dhakal.

Dhakal sent a message to some journalists on Wednesday morning that he was protesting the lack of transparency by covering his mouth with tape during the meeting.

The RSP central committee is currently reviewing a report prepared by Dhakal.

Last week, Dhakal stirred controversy by sharing the findings of his report with the media before presenting it to the party. Talking to journalists, he warned that the party would face poor performance in the 2027 election unless significant changes were made immediately.

The RSP leadership expressed strong disapproval of Dhakal’s premature disclosure and has demanded an explanation from him.

Dhakal’s report was compiled after engaging with party leaders and members across 38 districts.
