RSP files complaint against PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has filed a complaint with the Election Office in Tanahun, accusing Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal of violating the election code of conduct.

According to Surya Mani Poudel, RSP’s deputy coordinator of Tanahun District Committee, Dahal used a helicopter for election campaigning and promised a ministerial position to a candidate.

“We would like to bring to the attention of the Election Office the involvement of the Prime Minister in campaigning for a candidate from the ruling coalition, the use of a Nepal Army helicopter under the pretext of attending an inauguration program, and the promise of a ministerial position to a candidate,” Poudel stated in his complaint.

During an election meeting in Dumre on Wednesday, Dahal announced that he would appoint NC candidate Govinda Raj Bhattarai as a minister if elected.
