KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has said that his party could help in government formation.
Talking to journalists after the swearing-in ceremony on Thursday: “There is no single majority in the parliament. Therefore, if there is difficulty in government formation, we can help even though we have only 20 seats.”
Lamichhane also added that his party was ready to cooperate with parties or a coalition that is against corruption.
The newly-formed RSP sprung a surprise winning seven seats in the first past the post (FPTP) system and 13 in the proportional representation (PR) system in the November 20 polls. It also managed to attain the ‘national party’ status in the parliamentary, by crossing the 3% threshold of votes, in less than six months of its formation.
