KATHMANDU: The National Sports Council (NSC) has recommended a cash reward of Rs 1.3 million to each member of the Nepali men’s cricket team, which has qualified for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
A meeting of the NSC chaired by Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising on Tuesday took the decision.
The meeting has recommended a cash prize of Rs 20.4 million for the 15 players, as well as the head coach, assistant coach, physio, and team manager. While Rs 1.3 million has been proposed for each player, the head coach will be awarded Rs 390,000, and the assistant coach, manager, and physio will receive Rs 195,000 each.
Nepal secured its T20 World Cup spot by defeating the UAE by eight wickets in the semifinal of the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier held in Kathmandu last week. However, the home side was defeated by Oman in the final.
